SWEET SUPPORT: CONTRACTOR ANNOUNCES £5,000 INVESTMENT FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY
The community of Greenbank, Bristol is set to benefit from financial investment from local firm Sweet Construct as part of a new initiative that will help fund local community groups and projects in the area.
‘Sweet Support’ will offer a total funding pot of £5,000, with individual grants made of up to £500 towards eligible projects and initiatives that can demonstrate how the money will help to deliverlasting benefits to the local community.
The family-owned construction firm are currently working in the area as contractor for The Chocolate Factory development, which is transforming the former derelict Elizabeth Shaw Chocolate Factory into high-quality homes for property investment and regeneration company, Generator South West.
Lewis Sweet, Managing Director of Sweet Construct commented: “Supporting the communities we work in is an important part of what we do and demonstrates just some of the many benefits that construction and regeneration workscan bring to an area. The funds will be used to support anddevelop initiatives, projects and organisations that benefit the residents of Greenbank and will help achieve our aim to leavea legacy through our work that reaches far beyond the buildings we create.”
Jason Schofield, Development Director at Generator South West added: “Sweet Construct’s commitment reflects our view that community is absolutely central to the success of this scheme and is in perfect alignment with the main objective of this project; to place this site at the heart of the Greenbank community once again.”
Once completed, The Chocolate Factory will feature 140 homes in total including 36 affordable housing units, 44 three and four bedroom houses and 60 one and two bedroom apartments, which will go on sale in September.
