Redcliffe Homes shortlisted in Housebuilder awards

The team at independent South-West housebuilder Redcliffe Homes is celebrating the news that its Park Place development in Corsham is a finalist in the industry’s prestigious 2021 Housebuilder Awards.

The judging panel, comprised of industry experts, were looking for excellence in overall design including use of materials and providing an attractive environment, suitability for purpose and sustainability in new homes and schemes of three storeys or fewer.

Points of design that attracted the judges’ attention included the interesting street scene of Park Place which features subtle variation in materials, house facades, boundary treatments and landscaping.

Examples of Redcliffe’s sympathetic approach to the environment at Park Place include the retention of an existing dry-stone wall as an ecological corridor, bisecting the site north to south, and of two areas of copse woodland, allotments and green open spaces.

Described by Corsham Town Council as a sustainable development with a community that is integrated into town life, the character of Park Place has attracted high praise from the people who now live there.

Andrew Given who was the first occupant, called it a stunning development, adding: “The spacious layout, wide avenue style roads, allotments and substantial landscaped open spaces - something you don’t normally see in modern housing developments - make it a wonderful place to live and has created a real community through its design.

“The housing is also sympathetically designed to reconcile with Corsham’s history and character, with a wide range of different house types, each house perfectly designed with its own unique feel.”

Lorraine Kendrick, head of sales and marketing for Redcliffe Homes, said: “We are thrilled that Park Place has been included in the shortlist for a Housebuilder Award.

“Feedback from people who are now living there has reinforced our confidence in the principles we follow when creating a new development: that it should feature excellence in design and quality, with sustainability at its heart as well as sympathetic consideration of the needs and concerns of the local community and the environments where we build.

“We are very much looking forward to the awards evening”

Redcliffe Homes is currently building developments in Wiltshire at Chippenham and Upavon, as well as at Wrington in North Somerset, with a new development just getting underway at Hempsted in Gloucestershire. For further details see www.redcliffehomes.co.uk
