Summer gets off to a sizzling start

Residents, their families and staff at a Shepton Mallet residential home have been by holding a barbecue in the garden at St Cecilia.

Tracy Woolfrey, manager of the home, said: “We love having events to which we can invite family and friends of our residents, and this first barbecue of the year was a great hit.

“We were all so pleased to see the sunshine, having had so much rain recently, and everyone had a lovely time enjoying delicious food and each other’s company.

“Events like these remind us of the importance of coming together and supporting one another.”

The barbecue, catered for by St Cecilia’s kitchen team, was organised to follow on from one of the regular relatives’ meetings which are held throughout the year to give loved ones the chance to catch up with family members in a relaxed setting.

The event was part of a regular busy schedule of activities organised for the residents of St Cecilia, which is run by White Care Group.

The home can support up to 17 individuals in a setting designed to provide a home from home environment.

Information about vacancies is available from Tracy Woolfrey on 01749 342809.
