Osborne Clarke advises HSBC on investment in FINBOURNE Technology

Lawyers at Osborne Clarke in Bristol have advised HSBC on its investment in financial data management company FINBOURNE Technology.

The successful secondary raise follows a Series B funding round of £55 million earlier this year and brings the total to over £100 million, making it one of the largest series B raises in the UK.

It allows for six investors to follow-on from their original investment and four additional investors to join the roster of firms with a stake in FINBOURNE. Two investors, HSBC and CommerzVentures, will now join the company’s board.

The Osborne Clarke team involved in the transaction was led by Bristol-based corporate and venture capital partner James Taylor and senior associate Uday Mehra.

“We are very proud to have advised HSBC on this transaction and are excited to see FINBOURNE’s continued expansion and development,” said James Taylor.

Osborne Clarke’s international financial services sector team advises clients ranging from start-ups, scale-ups/growth businesses and fintech unicorns to challenger banks, payments, retail and consumer finance, platforms, large corporates and institutions as well as lenders, investors and industry bodies and regulators.
