Bristol welcomes Chinese Year Of The Rabbit

Figures from Bristol’s business and education communities came together to attend a celebration for the Chinese Year of the Rabbit.

Councillor Paula O’Rourke, Lord Mayor of Bristol, was guest of honour at Wong’s Restaurant for the Bristol and West of England’s Chinese New Year banquet.

The bureau’s annual showpiece event was hosted by its chief executive Dianne Francombe, OBE.

“Our event brings together civic dignitaries, representatives of businesses and organisations engaging with China, students and scholars and enthusiastic supporters of harmonious relations between our great nations,” she said.

“It is a platform to celebrate the Chinese New Year, and experience Chinese culture and a wonderful banquet while learning about the level of engagement between our region and China across all aspects of business and education.”

Richard Lowe, director of business initiatives at the China Bureau, is leading a “Mission to Hong Kong – Your Tech Gateway to Asia Pacific” later this year. If you would like to find out more about this trip, which takes place from 13th-17th November, or to attend any of our other events, email dianne@chinabureau.com.
