Ann celebrates over 20 years' service at Yeovil nursery
A nursery worker from Yeovil has celebrated over 20 years of service at a local day nursery and pre-school.
Ann Pye has spent her career working at the Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-School in Houndstone Close (previously a South Somerset District Council nursery) where she is a Team Leader.
The family-run business, headed up by husband and wife team Tony and Bev Driffield, celebrated the achievement by awarding Ann with £250 and a special letter and certificate.
Ann said: “I am delighted to be celebrating over 20 years within the nursery, where I have cared for a great number of children, welcoming many babies and their parents into nursery life. Watching them grow and move onto school and new adventures has been such a pleasure and helping the children develop into confident individuals is so rewarding. I’m lucky to work with a fabulous team too.”
Mama Bear’s provides a home-from-home environment for children and the group has 24 settings across Somerset, Devon and Bristol.
The company recently launched its official Long Service Awards and Ann is one of the first recipients of the accolade.
Mama Bear’s Houndstone Close nursery manager Hannah Fox said: “Ann is a great asset to the nursery, not only do the children adore her, she is also a fantastic team player always willing to go above and beyond.
“Ann is great at providing many learning opportunities for the children and supporting their individual needs through fun activities which promote their learning and development.”
Mama Bear’s Day Nurseries are aimed at providing children with their first vital level of education to give them a head-start when they start at primary school.
