Charity resumes face-to-face support for people with cancer
A local charity which has recently introduced a venue-hire option at its Bristol headquarters says revenue from businesses holding well-being retreats has meant more services for its beneficiaries.
Penny Brohn UK has opened the doors of Ham Green House in Pill, allowing organisations to hire the impressive space and gardens for retreats, away-days, seminars and team building.
New in-person support provided by the charity, includes Art Therapy, a Nutrition Café with experts, Tea & Chat, a Welcome to Penny Brohn UK session and therapeutic walks around the beautiful grounds. Clients also already visit the House in North Somerset for residential retreats and wellbeing days. The free events are open to anyone affected by cancer.
Now the charity wants to encourage even more businesses to use its facilities for wellbeing events so that it can expand its calendar of in-person sessions at Ham Green House.
Set in extensive landscaped gardens, the Grade II listed Georgian mansion and its purpose-built modern therapeutic wing offer flexible spaces for all types of events, from employee wellbeing days to larger conferences and life celebrations.
Facilities include 26 en-suite bedrooms, a restaurant and ample parking. There is also an independent holistic wellbeing centre within the building where visitors can book treatments such as massage, reiki and reflexology.
Andrew Hufford, Penny Brohn UK CEO, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer our in-person therapeutic sessions once again.
“We believe that everybody should have access to the support they need to live life as fully as possible with cancer. All our group and one-to-one services are free for anyone with cancer and their loved ones.”
Dida Moore, head of sales and customer relations, said: “Because all our services are free we rely purely on donations and fundraising and the income we generate from hiring out our beautiful therapeutic space is a good example of how charities are having to diversify at the moment in order to survive.
“We are encouraging more organisations to consider using our amazing facilities. Holding your event at Ham Green House is a great way to demonstrate that you are a caring employer while also supporting the valuable work we do helping people with cancer."
