Beyond Therapy Festival of Activism Against Child Sexual Abuse

A groundbreaking festival to be held in Bristol on 6 February 2024 will be looking at how to reshape society’s response to child sexual abuse, with the primary aim of fostering supportive educational environments for those affected.

The Beyond Therapy Festival of Activism Against Child Sexual Abuse will focus on reimagining education spaces for child survivors, considering the latest research, innovative practices and survivors' perspectives. Currently survivors and their families continue to report struggling to access support and justice, with traditional responses routinely limited to criminal justice proceedings or one-on-one therapy.

The festival will be co-hosted by Gemma Halliwell, survivor, researcher and CEO of The Green House, and Candice Harris, survivor, author and Lived Experience Consultant, who together will also shortly be launching a groundbreaking podcast ‘Conversations We've Never Had…’ exploring the lasting impact of child sexual abuse.

The Green House is a Bristol-based specialist support service for children, young people and families who have experienced sexual abuse.
