New homes spark high levels of interest
New-build homes due to go on sale next month (April) in Milborne Port near Sherborne have sparked high levels of interest both from local people and further afield, according to agents Greenslade Taylor Hunt.
Located on the edge of the historic village of Milborne Port, Gascoigne Park is named after the nearby River Gascoigne. It is the latest development by award-winning independent housebuilders Redcliffe Homes.
The new homes will sit within a rural, village location yet are still within walking distance of the village centre, with its independent shops, GP surgery, pharmacy and veterinary clinic, as well as the renowned Clockspire restaurant and village pub.
Homes for sale will range from two- to five-bedroom to suit all needs and budgets, with the latest energy efficient air source heat pumps for heating and hot water, triple glazing and electric vehicle charging points.
Sarah Hall, who heads GTH’s new homes division in the region, said: “Redcliffe Homes are repeating here what they are best-known for – finding a really lovely location and creating a development that complements the finest characteristics in its locality, at the same time equipping the homes with the best available modern technology and energy-efficient features.
“We know there is pent-up demand for property in this area, not least from people working for the largest local employers – Westland Helicopters and Yeovil Hospital - and there is nothing else available that compares with these new build homes.
“The village is located on the Somerset/Dorset border with good road and rail links, being on the main line into London Waterloo, and close to the A303 and A30 which means it’s just 45 minutes from Weymouth and an hour from West Bay and Lyme Regis.
“Properties here are not as pricey as historic Sherborne, but it is only four miles away, so residents will easily be able to enjoy the independent boutiques, antique dealers, art galleries, delicatessens, restaurants, golf course and other sports facilities in the town, and their children can attend Sherborne’s excellent state or independent secondary schools.
“The primary school in Milborne Port is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and has pre-school provision, and there are number of children’s play areas and playing fields, as well as recreational clubs and societies for children and adults alike.”
