Mentor Digital announces new Tenpin Goals and Rewards mobile app

Bristol-based Mentor Digital has launched the Tenpin Goals and Rewards App - the first rewards app for the UK bowling industry.

Tenpin, which operates bowling and entertainment centres across the country, briefed Mentor Digital to create a mobile app that would drive customer loyalty, build brand awareness and develop customer relationships.

The new Tenpin app enables users to earn loyalty points through purchases, games and interactions, which can then be converted into money saving rewards for bowling and family entertainment activities, plus food and drink. Each transaction rewards the user with a number of points which can be redeemed against vouchers for booking bowling or ordering food and drink.

The app’s augmented reality features provide users with access to special badges hidden around their local Tenpin centre. These can be scanned on a mobile phone in order to see four interactive animated Tenpin characters come to life.

When all four characters are revealed, Teg the robot, an interactive Augmented Reality (AR) character, is released. Customers can then see Teg running around in the entertainment centre, at home and at work.

“Tenpin was looking for ways to add value and entertainment for its customers, whilst also remaining at the forefront of the entertainment industry,” says Holland Risley, managing director at Mentor Digital.

“Mentor Digital has been working for over ten years to provide the ultimate digital experience for Tenpin’s customers and we are delighted to see this industry leading mobile app really take off, with over 50,000 downloads in the first month.

“We have integrated with the Conqueror booking engine and the Orderbee POS (Point of Sale) portal so that users have a single, seamless way of booking bowling as well as food and drink, all the while benefiting from the ultimate in-app digital experience.

“What’s more, the app benefits from a number of special features to encourage interaction between visits, ranging from a daily ‘Spin the Wheel’ game to recording and sharing scores from previous games.”
