St George nursery celebrates good Ofsted rating
A St George nursery is celebrating a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating following its latest inspection by the governing body.
Mama Bear’s Day Nursery & Pre-School at Whiteway Road, Speedwell, as well as the dedicated baby unit located two doors down, was rated ‘Good’ in all areas including management, teaching, personal development, behaviour, welfare and outcomes for children.
The nursery has been praised for its safe and secure environment, its broad and varied curriculum and the respected team of managers who are good role models.
The baby unit was praised for its consistent and well organised daily routines which the children are familiar with, the strong emotional attachments evident between children and staff and the encouragement of children’s curiosity.
Mama Bear’s Whiteway Road Nursery Manager, Cherelle Craig, said: “We are thrilled to have received a Good Ofsted rating and very proud to receive such a glowing report for both the nursery and pre-school and the baby unit.
“It seems that the inspector and our parents were particularly pleased with how we handled COVID-19 procedures, including our communication with families during that time and the emotional support we have offered to children as they have settled back into nursery life following restrictions.
“It was also encouraging to hear positive feedback on our staff development, which is something we are particularly passionate about.
“This latest report paired with our DayNurseries.co.uk review score of 9.5, given by parents who have used our setting, is a fantastic testament to the team and how we ensure the best outcomes for each child.”
The nursery comprises a pre-school for two, three and four-year-olds plus a dedicated baby unit for under twos, two doors down. Both settings offer a stimulating, safe and welcoming environment with resources dedicated to their age group.
The pre-school garden is particularly impressive and a perfect environment for the children to explore the outside environment and develop gross motor skills.
Mama Bear’s Day Nurseries provide care for children from three months to five years. There are now 24 settings across Somerset, Bristol and Devon.
