Focus Hotels management donates to NHS Charities
The Doubletree by Hilton, Bristol City, near Temple Meads Station was reopened this week for key workers only by Focus Management Ltd, the leading hospitality group that manages the hotel. It is among a small number of the group's hotels providing accommodation for workers from the NHS, pharmaceutical industry, distribution and construction sectors.
Focus Hotels Management Ltd raised money for NHS charities across the country while providing much-needed accommodation for key workers at the Mercure Hatfield Oak in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.
A £5 donation was pledged to NHS Charities Together, Covid-19 urgent appeal for every booking taken as the hotel opened its doors to a blend of various key workers who are supporting many industries, including NHS staff.
After 30 days the final total was topped up by Peter Cashman, CEO of Focus Hotels Management Limited, who manages the hotel, ensuring the charity will receive £1600.00.
NHS Charities Together support the 230 charities across the UK that back hospitals with vital equipment, volunteers and capital projects that are in addition to Government funding. This includes Above and Beyond in Bristol.
Lynn Hood, Chief Operating Officer of Focus Hotels, said: “We have kept a number of hotels open for key workers but the idea of also being able to support the fight against coronavirus via donation is just one way we can give back to those on the front line.
“With our CEO making a personal donation and gift aid we were able to maximise the amount from the hotel in Hatfield from the 30-day period.”
Focus Hotels has also reopened the DoubleTree by Hilton Heathrow, Sketchley Grange Hotel and Spa in Hinckley, Mercure Albrighton Hall Hotel in Shrewsbury and Ibis Styles, Reading for key workers.
Focus Hotels is a leading independent hospitality company with a portfolio of 17 hotels operating, under development and in planning, totalling 1,798 bedrooms.
